Year 5 Rugby

Another sunny afternoon and another fantastic rugby session with Mr Williams.

We built on our dodging and tagging skills from last week – this week we ran with the ball and passed.

Many of us thought we would run faster with the ball, then we realised it was heavier. Some fantastic one-on-one chasing.

Oh, and a super game of sheep and gates to get us warmed up.

Thank you Mr Williams!

Year 3 Writing

Year 3 worked on editing their writing. We took advantage of the lovely weather and went outside to share our work with our learning partners by reading our letters to each other. We were then able to identify areas for improvement.

Year 3 Road Safety

Year 3 enjoyed Safety Day last Friday. We went outside and practiced crossing the road to the swimming pool. All the children remembered to Stop, Look and Listen. We also practiced crossing the road as a group, ready for our walk to the church at Christmas.

Year 5 – Mixed Up Animals

What do you call an animal that is half frog and half horse?

In Year 5, we have been reading descriptions of rain forest animals to inspire us to create a mixed up animal for a layer of the rain forest. Has our writing convinced you this animal could (should!) exist?

Come and see our writing display and all the WOW! Writing to be proud of in class.

Safety Day 2018

On Friday 28th September we held our annual Safety Day in school. The children enjoyed the activities designed to raise their awareness of ways they can keep themselves safe. All the year groups discussed what to do in and emergency, how to call for help and stranger danger. Then Year 3 learned about Road Safety, Year 4 looked at how they can stay safe at the beach, Year 5 learned about Fire Safety and actions to take in the case of a fire and Year 6 talked about Fireworks and how to make sure the Firework code is followed.
