Year 4 New Forest Visit

To start our Autumn Term off with a bang we decided to visit the New Forest. Our trip started with a visit to Lyndhurst Verderers Court to learn about the rules of the forest and who decides what happens if the rules are broken. Then we had a whistle stop tour of Lyndhurst Museum- finding out all the ways in which it is used. The area in which we live was important in WW2 and has housed many endangered animals.

When we finished a short coach journey, we arrived at Bolderwood and had lunch. After lunch, the children were given cameras and voice recorders to spot the human impact at Bolderwood. Our afternoon ended with a walk and us spotting 4 Fallow Deer in a nearby field.

We were all tired after a long and adventurous day that has informed our learning throughout this topic.
