Year 5 and 6 Orienteering

On Thursday 3rd October, 12 Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in an orienteering competition at the Tile Barn in Brockenhurst. The afternoon consisted of finding clues, teamwork and being able to read their maps accurately. As you can see from these pictures, these were skills that they all used well. The children were split into groups of 4 and had to complete two tasks: Anagram and finding the clues and hole punching them.

The hard work, effort and determination of these pupils paid off as in the Anagram challenge 2 groups came joint 1st and the other group came 3rd. Then in the hole punch challenge 1 group came 3rd overall. This was a fantastic effort and all the children who were involved should be incredibly proud of their achievements.

It goes to show that hard work, determination and effort really do help to strive for our best.
